Open to international academics from around the world, Université Rennes 2’s these international chair positions offer guest professors the opportunity to spend from 1 to 3 months in Rennes whilst building meaningful scientific, teaching and learning collaborations with our research units and academic departments.

Successful candidates will be able to present their scientific projects through seminars or conferences to our students and permanent research staff whilst enjoying full access to the university’s libraries, archives and teaching spaces.

All applications should be developed in coordination with a member of Rennes 2's teaching or research staff and should be sent by 14th November 2025.

CAPS International Chair visiting professor program.

The CAPS International Chair visiting professor program involves direct engagement with activities of the CAPS Graduate School, by giving talks and organising scientific events for CAPS Master & PhD students. The specific types of activities (workshops, conferences, seminars...) will be discussed and co-designed directly with the CAPS directors: Marion Hohlfeldt, Hélène Bailleul, Anne Zeitz & Anthony Larson.

The visiting professor will have access to teaching spaces on the university's main Villejean campus, as well as classroom and office spaces reserved for CAPS on the nearby La Harpe campus. Teaching activities and scientific events can also be arranged within spaces and third-places belonging to CAPS' network of socio-cultural partners in Rennes, such as Hôtel Pasteur and La Prévalaye (depending on availability). Events may also take place in diverse public spaces in Rennes.

If you wish to apply for this role, you will first be required to identify and contact a hosting research unit associated with the CAPS Graduate School. The full list of 12 units can be found on our website, listed under the "Partnerships" section fo the CAPS website : https://creativepublicspace.univ-rennes.fr/english.html
